this family has invited me into their lives for over 6 years + each time they contact me to help document their ever changing lives i am overcome with gratitude for this gift of photography. a gift that can freeze time also while showing its progress. each time i see their children i am blown away by their growth as well as their developing + unique personalities. the inquisitive oldest + contemplative youngest. it is a blessing to see these subtle transformations over the years. i hope that the tradition carries on for a long long time.
if you are looking to add a yearly family portrait to your traditions i am running a portrait special for the whole year as an added incentive.check this out to see more information.
2020 has been an unprecedent year for all of us. all of my booked weddings were put on hold, rescheduled for less contagious days. while I was still fortunate to be able to 2nd shoot weddings for 2 of my favorite local photographers, lisa of lisa frechette photography[thank you for letting me share some of your wedding images below] + mia of mia campopiano photography, I am absolutely longing to photograph my own weddings again [fingers crossed 2021].
thankfully my year was filled with personal art projects at thecollaborative02885 as well as so many lovely family portrait sessions. oh, you special lovely families, the most enjoyable time I have had masked has been photographing you! thank you thank you thank you!
I even did some pivoting [is this the most hated word of 2020?] with some real estate, restaurant + product photography in order to keep my creative brain working + to try + stay off unemployment.
a huge highlight from this year was the time I spent volunteering at moonrose farm through their csa work share program. while I only have my crappy phone photos [not shared here] from my time there, the memories + life lessons I learned there will never fade:
shop local. support your farmers. be kind. when in doubt get your hands dirty. you can actually eat hard work [that is if you are a farmer or gardener]. we are all connected. tomato hornworms are fascinating + gross.
so without anymore rambling here is my 2020 in pictures:
you’ve made it to the end! thank you for taking the time to look at these images + happy new year!
I have decided to extend my 2020 portrait session special to 2021 because why not + I think we all deserve it.
$200 on-location portrait session for any portrait session booked in 2021!!
*fine print: portrait sessions include anyone from 1 person/pet/thing up to 6 people/pets/things. additional charge for additional persons/pets/things. all high resolution jpegs included with session fee. does not include 7% RI sales tax*
first up from this week is a family that I have had the pleasure to work with many times over the years. from their engagement session, mt. hope farm wedding, commercial work for their wonderful restaurant chomp, and now to a holiday family portrait session. phew! they keep me busy and I am so grateful for the repeat patronage. here are just a few frames from the colt state park session that went down this week.
i have never learned to juggle but 2020 has sure made me attempt it. from adding new things to my repertoire such as real estate photography, car photography + now i have been given the opportunity to try my hand at product photography. here are just a few frames of things in the works for local warren ri restaurant bywater [who has really taught me a lot about adapting + jazz hands!]
2020 + small businesses = necessary juggling lessons. glad we are all in this together!
